The Birmingham City Council has passed both parts of Mayor Larry Langford’s Billion Dollar Revitalization Plan. The parts of the plan consist of a 1% sales tax increase and will double license fees for businesses… The business license money is slated to build a dome stadium and enhance mass transit.

When Mayor Langford wants something done, apparently he moves fast. Less than one month into his mayorship he has already created a plan for funding his mass transit and dome plans AND gotten it already approved by the Birmingham City Council. With any luck, the city council will continue to play along with the plans until Birmingham has our dome and accompanying pro sports team. Keep it up Larry!
